Jack has been battling ear infections for 3 weeks.  We started with cefdiner on April 8th after having a fever for 3 days.  (We didn’t even start with amoxicillin).  After 6 days Jack had another fever…so the following day we went BACK to the doctor and they decided to do the “ear infection shot.”  Dr. Lonas said it’s usually a 30, 60, 90…30% effective with the first shot, then 60% effective, then 90% effective.  So..we tried! That was Tuesday.  On Friday, we went back and the right ear looked good, left ear was bad.  So we got another shot.  Then on Monday, we went again.  This time his right ear was bad and his left ear didn’t look good.  So Dr. Lonas decided not to do the third shot and just go to the ENT.  He put him on a different antibiotic…not to get rid of the infection, but just to control it and keep Jack semi-happy.  God had a hand in getting an appt with the ENT.  It took us a week or 2 with Lucas…but they happened to have the Saturday clinic LAST Saturday (it’s once a month) and they happened to have a spot!! So we took it.

When we saw Dr. McGuirt in Winston-Salem, and explained things, he said he does need tubes as soon as possible.  He would put “urgent” by his name so that on Monday the scheduler would make sure to get him in this week.  He also gave him a steroid to take to try to help a little bit too.  We were very thankful!! So Wednesday morning…around 6:30-7:30, Jack will be getting tubes.

Jack on steroids!! 🙂

Lucas has had two sets…one when he was 2 and his second set when he was almost 4.  So we are used to this, but still love prayers.  We will leave from our house and Jack can’t have liquids or food and that might be a little hard since we have to drive for an hour and a half.  Jack also knows he is going to a doctor now.  And he is not the biggest fan.  Big crocodile tears as soon as we walked into the ENT office on Saturday.  Lucas LOVES going to the doctor.  He looks forward to seeing everyone.  Jack…not so much.  So prayers for that!

But I got a cute video of Jack saying, “I do, too.”  (My mom was helping with this video)

So we have had a busy 3 weeks on top of Jack going to the doctor every 3 days!! 🙂  Lucas got new glasses!! 🙂  Jack wants a pair! 🙂

Boone has CRAZY weather…and while we haven’t had snow..it’s been cold. We got to go to Tweetsie…and Lucas was VERY excited.  We didn’t know how Jack would react on the big train…and his brother did a good job preparing him for it.  As soon as the loud gunfire started…Jack said, “boom boom boom.”  We are good! 🙂 He even shared his Cheerios with the cowboys! 😉

Today when we got outside…Jack had a nice little face plant! He cried for a bit…but then wanted to run around with his blanket.  The good news is he doesn’t care what blanket…as long as it’s a blanket. 🙂

Thanks for praying for Jack!! 🙂 Ready for him to feel good for longer than 3 days! 🙂
